Skaftfell Center for Visual Art has opened a call for applications for the residency program in 2011.
The Skaftfell residency program’s objective is to create a community made up of artists and the general public in the rural setting of East-Iceland. Creating a platform to stimulate innovative dialogue between art and life. Allowing a space for artists to experience and explore a new angle to their artistic work in context with living and working in a unique, micro community were creativity is applied to every day life.
Although Skaftfell’s residency program is aimed at artists working with in the field of visual art, experimental artists working in intermediate methods are eligible to apply regardless of the nature of their primary profession/education within the arts. Group and family applications are welcome.
The residencies are located in three different houses in the town of Seyðisfjörður; at Skaftfell, at Hóll on Vesturvegur road and at the Iron House on Fossgata road. The houses all have two bedrooms, bathroom with shower, kitchen, a small living room aria and studio/working facilities. The houses are all equipped with beds, dining sets, duvets, linen and towels for 5 people. Each residency period is from 1 – 6 months.

knowing that deadline for application has been september firts i really want to know if there is anotehr follwowing deadline, which allows me to apply for 2011.

Unfortunately not. Available periods, unexpected openings in the program etc. will be posted on the rss – so if you subscribe you will not miss it.
