The musicians Hei?a Eir?ks and Berglind ?g?stsd?ttir will go on a small tour around the country, beginning of June. They both play original music, that can be categorized as experimental, alternative popmusic, but they approach it in different ways. Hei?a uses only a folk-guitar and her voice and plays slow, melting folk-music, whereas Berglind uses a computer and a mic and plays experimental party-electro.
They decided to travel around Iceland for one week and take their sons, 11 and 13, along with them. They also bring music in cassettes and cd’s that they intend to promote and sell.
Berlind and Hei?a will have a concert in the Bookshop – projectspace on Saturday June 8. Follow them on: https://www.facebook.com/events/205945486219191/
Berglind ?g?stsd?ttir is an artist and a musician and just finished her third album called I am Your Girl. She will play song from that album in the concerts, as well as some more songs. Previously she released “Fish Number One” in the year 1997, “Friends Save the Day” in 2010, and the vocal remix-cd “Never too late for love” in 2010. She has also collaborated with many other bands and contributed to their albums, as well as putting on numerous exhibitions. She just started a series of cassettes with musical experiments and two are already published.
Hei?a Eir??ks has been using the name Heida the troubadour since 1989 when she started performing alone with her guitar. Heida troubadour is working on a solo-album with material that can be performed with one voice and one folk-guitar. She has, since 1994, released quite a few cd’s with the bands Unun, Hei?a & Hei?ingjarnir, Ruddinn and Hellvar, as well as a few solo-projects. Her last album was the Hellvar-album “Stop that Noise”, released in 2011. She is currently working on a new children’s album with Dr. Gunni.
This tour is sponsored by Kraumur-Music fund.
