“Bulging with silence natures things are; they stand in front of us as containers filled by silence”. Max Picard

Guha – an inner hollow at the edge of the world by Italian artists-in-residency Francesco Bertel can be seen as a process of hyperextension1 is a permanent environmental monument hidden in the belly of the earth. An invisible shack for meditation on the natural world, upon which we all depend.

This project is a practice aimed to transform the studio from a site of artistic production into diffused, nomadic sites for encounters, discovery and memory.

(1) The process of hyperextension is shown to include the artist herself, as increasingly embedded ecological agent. Julia Martin
