Stybor (DE), with L\u00edsa Le\u00f3nhar\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir (IS) \/ Anna Raabe (DE) \/ Max Richter (DE) \u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open Studio on February 22, 2019, 17:00 \u2013 20:00, Skaftfell 3<sup>rd<\/sup> floor, Austurvegur 42. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of Skaftfell\u2019s current artists-in-residence, Lisa M. Stybor, will host an Open Studio and present work in progress in the artist apartment on Skaftfell&#8217;s top floor (enter through gallery entrance).<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Lisa M. Stybor (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stybor.de\" target=\"_blank\">Lisa M. Stybor<\/a><\/strong> was born in 1953 and grew up in Aachen. She has been coming to Iceland for 20 years to study atmospheres, earth, sea, and fire. Today she focuses on time. Against the linearity of time she sets simultaneity. She has developed parallel different work cycles for more than 20 years. Recently she has adopted four different artist names, along with their own biographies and ways of expression. These alter egos are L\u00edsa Le\u00f3nhar\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir, Anna Raabe, and Max Richter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Image above: Lisa M. Stybor, <em>At the Creek,<\/em> 2017, oil on canvas, 150x200cm, Italy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stybor.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"L\u00edsa Le\u00f3nhar\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir (opens in a new tab)\">L\u00edsa Le\u00f3nhar\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir<\/a><\/strong> grew up in Iceland and has spent all her artistic life working about nature. She dedicates herself to diversity and beauty, atmospheres and intermediate areas, the dark and mysterious as well as the delicate and dissolving spheres. In a way, her 18 x 26 cm acrylic paintings are realistic and abstract at the same time: Realistic as Le\u00f3nhar\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir analyzes the real color tones, and abstract as she relates each form to the horizon line. She works with the landscape as a space of memory. Her topic is pain \u2013 both as a suffering that man has inflicted on himself, and as a hardship which he is at the mercy of. Her last major project was a journey through eastern Turkey following the traces of the Armenian genocide. Here in this exhibition drawings are shown which correspond to the earthquake in L\u2018Aquila, Italy (2009).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/skaftfell.is\/wp-content\/smush-webp\/2025\/08\/image2.jpeg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15188 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 2048px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 2048\/1545;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Anna Raabe, <em>The Tower<\/em>, 2019, of the series to the earthquake of L\u2019Aquila, graphite on paper, 50x65cm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stybor.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Max Richter (opens in a new tab)\">Max Richter<\/a><\/strong> is a still very young painter from North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. He deals with dynamics and rhythm, with dissolution and transformation. It is built like a painted melody. The individual works are parts of the great symphony entitled \u201eSong of the Earth\u201c and worked on parallel for the most part in the last 20 years.
