Angr\u00f3, Hafnargata, Sey\u00f0isf\u00f6r\u00f0ur<br \/>18.06 &#8211; 01.09. 2019<br \/>Exhibition open Friday &#8211; Sunday 12:00-18:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skaftfell with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tekmus.is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"T\u00e6kniminjasafns Austurlands (opens in a new tab)\">T\u00e6kniminjasafns Austurlands<\/a> and the Dieter Roth Estate will collaborate to re-stage the installation <em>H\u00fasin \u00e1 Sey\u00f0isfir\u00f0i, vetur 1988 &#8211; sumar 1995<\/em> at Angr\u00f3, Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, the building where the work was first shown in 1995. Dieter Roth has an extensive history with Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur having lived and made work in town for a number of years during the 1990s and his family retains his form home and studio in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The installation consists of over 800 slides of photographs of every house and building in Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, taken at two periods: in the winter of 1988 and then in the summer of 1995. The work was realised by Dieter Roth with assistance from Bj\u00f6rn Roth and Eggart Einarsson. The work is shown on six slide projectors mounted on individual small tables and projected onto the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This significant work of Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur\u00b4s cultural history forms a portrait of the town over time, and shows it in a democratized manner whereby every building, regardless of its function or importance, is presented in exactly the same manner. Dieter Roth first showed the work at Angr\u00f3, and it has subsequently been shown in various galleries and museums around the world, and as part of an exhibition which was formative in the establishment of Skaftfell.
