Wednesday July 1, 20:00 – 21:00, Her\u00f0ubrei\u00f0 cinema.<\/p>\n

Skaftfell presents a special pre-screening of Jessica Auer<\/a>\u2019s film Shore Power <\/em>for the local community. This project was initiated during her residency with Skaftfell in July 2016, and was filmed over the course of three years. Documenting the rise of cruise ship calls to the Port of Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, the film reflects on the changes and challenges that have come to Iceland with this new wave of mass tourism.<\/p>\n

After the screening there will be time for questions and discussion. The Her\u00f0ubrei\u00f0 caf\u00e9 will be open, and everyone is welcome. Entry is free.<\/p>\n

Jessica Auer<\/strong><\/a> is a Canadian photographer, filmmaker and teacher who works between Montr\u00e9al, Qu\u00e9bec and Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Iceland. Known primarily for her photographic work, she also produces short films that question our social, political and aesthetic attitudes towards place. When in Montr\u00e9al, Jessica teaches photography at Concordia University. While in Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, she runs Str\u00f6ndin Studio<\/a>, a photographic research center and educational institution. She is currently exhibiting Looking North<\/a> \/ Horft til nor\u00f0urs<\/a> at the National Museum of Iceland.<\/p>\n
