Where Does Confetti Come From? was Skaftfell’s art education project this year, designed and taught by Hildigunnur Birgisdóttir. During BRAS – the cultural festival for children and young people in East Iceland – she travelled from Öxarfjörður to Djúpivogur, visiting every primary school in between, 13 in total. Around 200 children took part in the workshop, decorating their surroundings and exploring different celebration cultures from various corners of the world: fireworks from China, piñatas from South America and confetti… where does confetti come from?
