The exhibition Every Other Day, in a Different Place opens in Skaftfell in Seyðisfjörður on Saturday, February 26th at 4:00 PM

Every year, several art students from the Iceland Academy of the Arts relocate their artistic careers and settle in Seyðisfjörður. These days, a two-week course is being held in collaboration with Skaftfell, the Dieter Roth Academy and the Museum of Technology of the East. The town of Seyðisfjörður has the unique position of being a historical connection point, off the beaten track but also has a rich cultural history and it is widely believed that the town is the first seat of culture in Iceland. The town is therefore an effective source of ideas that are based on history, autonomy and location, and many of the works in the exhibition are based on these very ideas.

The art students participating in the course and whose works are in the exhibition are Axel Valur Davíðsson Diego, Bergur Thomas Anderson, Heidi Lampenius, Helga Páley Friðþjófsdóttir, Jóhanna María Einarsdóttir, Leó Stefánsson, Sebastian Wahlforss and Sigurður Atli Sigurðsson

The exhibition runs until May 1st and is open Wednesdays to Fridays from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM or by appointment.
