Garðar Bachmann Þórðarson was born and raised in Seyðisfjörður. He has worked as a chef for the past 11 years in Denmark, France and Spain and has at the same time developed his practice in photography and video. His work has been shown at TIFF, Skjaldborg and Herðubreið.
Garðar is currently employed as a cook on the Ísfisk trawler Gullver NS12, which operates from Seyðisfjörður. He is working on a book with the title Brak og Brestir eldað um borð í Gullver NS12, which follows life on board through food recipes, photographs and diaries. The exhibition on the West Wall offers a small insight into the forthcoming book.
