What if it never happened is an exhibition of oil paintings by Heiðdís Hólm. Focusing on personal experiences and imagined memories in Seyðisfjörður as the basis for her work; the paintings oscillate between playful exaggeration, dark introspection, and fictional narratives, while reflecting on the complexity of the human condition, humanity’s impact on nature, nature’s impact on humanity, and the consequences of those interactions. Heiðdís studied at the Akureyri School of Visual Arts and the Glasgow School of Art. Recent exhibitions include The House currently on view at IMT Gallery in London; Hope I Don’t Burn Everything Down at Akureyri Art Museum, with works now part of the museum’s permanent collection; The Goose That Ruined Everything at Sluice in Seyðisfjörður; and Rolling Snowball 16 at Ars Longa. She has performed at the A! Performance Festival in Akureyri and Do Disturb at Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
