Nikolas Grabar comes from Slovenia. He is a self-thought amateur landscape photographer “on a steep learning curve, mostly through trial & error.

“One of the main reasons for coming to Iceland in the summer of 2006 was to see the vast, “moonlike” landscapes and numerous fjords for which this island is internationally known for. However, the harsh beauty and unique sights of nature here has forced me to take on landscape photography as my biggest passion. Soon after arriving to Seyðfjörður, it became clear to me this is a very special town with a “soul”. Furthermore, I realized this is a perfect starting point for exploring its various surroundings. You don’t have to go far for sights of the fjord, open sea, mountains with magnificent views and numerous waterfalls. Observing the later with childlike affection, I´ve chosen moving water as the theme for this exhibition.”
