About the documentaries:

Indian Summer
Simon Brook

France, 2013, 84 min

Indian Summer is an entertaining road movie that travels through South India to discover Ayurvedic medicine, a five thousand year old traditional medicine. The film follows an unusual couple: A world famous French oncologist, who has the desire to discover other medical approaches and to question his own knowledge, and his former patient who chose traditional Indian medicine instead of recommended treatment. A “medical comedy” which speaks in a new and original way.

GMO OMG
Jeremy Seifert
United States, Haiti, Norway, 2013, 19 min
Trailer: http://youtu.be/ynyB2fNn8kQ

GMO OMG tells the hidden story of the take over of our food supply by giant chemical companies, an agricultural crisis that has grown into a cultural crisis. The film follows the director’s family struggle to live and eat without participating in an unhealthy, unjust, and destructive food system. Has the global food system been irrevocably hijacked? Is there still time to reclaim its purity, protect biodiversity and save ourselves?

TPB AFK: The Pirate Bay Away
Simon Klose
Sweden, Denmark, Norway, 2013, 82 min
Trailer: http://youtu.be/KCAGb7oSwDs

A fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the controversial copyright infringement case on the founders of The Pirate Bay. When the hacker prodigy Gottfrid, the internet activist Peter and the network nerd Fredrik are found guilty, they are confronted with the reality of life offline – away from keyboard. But deep down in dark data centres, clandestine computers quietly continue to duplicate files.

Valentine Road
Marta Cunningham

United States, 2013, 89 min
Trailer: http://vimeo.com/72726110

World premiered at Sundance 2013, this film will both break your heart and fire you up into action. A 15-year-old boy asked another boy to be his valentine in a suburban schoolyard in California. The next day he was dead, shot in cold blood by his 14-year-old crush. At turns shocking, devastating, and outrageous, Valentine Road bores deeply into the homophobia, sexism, racism, and class-struggle that inform everyday American life.
