Students on their final year in the Fine Arts department from the Iceland Academy of the Arts present the exhibition SOÐ (e. stew), in Skaftfell, Seyðisfjörður, East Iceland. This exhibition is the result of the students two-week workshop, a collaboration between the Art Academy, the Dieter Roth Academy, Skaftfell – Center for Visual Art and the Technical Museum of East Iceland.
The group is composed of students from Iceland and abroad. The particulars and spirit of the unique town of Seyðisfjörður have been woven into the students artwork, taking account of the new environment and the creativity that Seyðisfjörður holds in store.
Curiosity has driven them to artistic investigations which has in turn brought up questions concerning worldly perceptions, time, technique, the human being and life itself. The works are varied, ranging from sculpture, sound art to installations and happenings; and everything in between.
The group has ventured out to sea and during the opening the guests will be able to enjoy the catch prepared as fish stew. The opening will be held on Saturday November 1 at 16:00.
The exhibition is open daily and concludes December 1.
