Six Icelandic representatives in Frontiers of Solitude

Icelandic artists Finnur Arnar Arnarson, Elvar M?r Kjartansson, Karlotta Bl?ndal, Monika Frycov?, Krist?n R?narsd?ttir and ??runn Eymundard?ttir have been selected to participate in the international project Frontiers of Solitude.

The project focuses on current transformations of the landscape and the close connections between our post-industrial civilization and nature. The aim is to foster collaboration and an exchange of experiences between individual artists, researchers and initiatives, and to explore and interpret recent and long-term transformations of the landscape. Skaftfell is partner in the project with is lead by Skolska 28 Gallery (Deai/setkani), Czech Republic in collaboration with Atelier Nord, Norway.

The Icelandic part of the project began on August 10 when a group of eight started their expedition from Reykjavk. They are Pavel Mrkus and Diana Winklerov? from Czech Republic, Greg Pope and Ivar Smedstad from Norway and Icelandic artists Karlotta Bl?ndal and Finnur Arnar. Expedition leader is Julia Martin and documentarist is Lisa Paland.
