Thursday, July 14, 13:00-17:00 – Open studio: see the artists at work and try it yourself

Seyðisfjörður Print Workshop is a collaborative project, co-organised by Heima, Linus Lohmann, Listaháskóli Íslands, Lunga School, Skaftfell Center for Visual Art, and the Technical Museum of East Iceland. It is dedicated to offering professional printmaking facilities and taught courses for local and visiting artists and students of all age groups.

The new facilities, established in 2021/2022 with a grant from the Seyðisfjörður Incentive Fund, are housed in Öldugata 14 in Seyðisfjörður and offer space and equipment for intaglio (linocut, woodcut, etching) and various hand printing techniques. Silkscreen facilities will be added later this summer. The workshop replaces the printmaking facilities of the Technical Museum of East Iceland, which were completely destroyed in the landslides of December 2020.

Seyðisfjörður Print Workshop is welcoming bookings by individual artists who would like to rent the workshop for shorter or longer periods of time. For further information and expressions of interest please send an email to skaftfell@skaftfell.is.
