Rainy Siagian (b. 1994) is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher who lives and works between Brussels and Reykjavík. Born in Indonesia and raised in Belgium, her work is driven by a deep interest in the theoretical, physical, ideological, political, and critical meanings of what ‘space’ entails. Using a range of media, including spatial interventions, photography, text, and research, she explores how the body and mind orient and adapt within its tangible surroundings.
During her stay at Skaftfell, Siagian will further develop her ongoing research project The Nomadic Phenomenon of Alternative Museum Making, and work on a series reflecting her life woven between Belgium and Iceland.
