“I am an artist, designer, and between 2016 and 2025 the Senior Printmaking Technician at AUT University in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. With a focus on the manmade and natural landscape, my on-going research projects explore how we experience images and media the through the lens of printmaking, and the liminal spaces that exist in the materiality, history and syntax of print as artistic expression and commercial production. Drawn to spaces that are secluded, desolate, overlooked, or ignored, I aim to capture a certain feeling and draw parallels through methods of mechanical (re)reproduction and the characteristics unique to both analogue and digital mediums. With a background in publications and graphic design, I am interested in how print is understood, the way it influences the feelings that are evoked from its unique surface qualities, and how the weight of the visual language inherent in the medium lends authority to the image it is presenting.”
