Nicole Cecilie Bitsch Pedersen is a sound and visual artist and composer working with soundscapes, acousmatic composition, installations, and sound sculptures. Her works explore humans’ relationship with time and history, often combining sound, nature, and technology. She has exhibited site-specific works for a historic church ruin in the Faroe Islands and created permanent sound sculptures for Deep Forest Art Land and Anneberg Park in Denmark. In 2023, she received the Nye Veje grant from the Danish Composers Association for “The Sound of Passed Time,” an artistic research project delving into the concept of time through sound.
At Skaftfell, she aims to deepen her exploration of the temporal and material dimensions of sound exploring methods involving metal plate printing and bell-making, further investigating the intersections of sound, materiality, and temporality.
