Skaftfell artists-in-residence Philippa C Thomas and Hector MacInnes are offering a week-long school in zine-making, printmaking and DIY publishing for young people.
Each afternoon we will explore different skills, techniques and ways of making your own publications, including:
- printing with milk cartons and other found materials
- using voice, sound and text in your work
- layout and book-making ideas
- thinking about why you might want to make a zine, and who might read it
We will work together as a group to make our own zine, which we will launch as part of Skaftfell’s Summer Solstice festival on the 21st of June.
Philippa C Thomas and Hector MacInnes are artists-in-residence for 12 weeks. During their residency they have facilitated art classes in the kindergarten as well as led a workshop in Herðubreið on Saturday mornings for young children.
