Wednesday July 1, 20:00 – 21:00, Herðubreið cinema.
Skaftfell presents a special pre-screening of Jessica Auer’s film Shore Power for the local community. This project was initiated during her residency with Skaftfell in July 2016, and was filmed over the course of three years. Documenting the rise of cruise ship calls to the Port of Seyðisfjörður, the film reflects on the changes and challenges that have come to Iceland with this new wave of mass tourism.
After the screening there will be time for questions and discussion. The Herðubreið café will be open, and everyone is welcome. Entry is free.
A selection of ten research interviews connected with the film are available to preview online: https://vimeo.com/417315481
