Skaftfell warmly welcomes artist in residence Michael Soltau. Media professor Michael Soltau, born 1953, Oldenburg (Germany) lives and works in Leipzig and Varel. His long-standing artistic work explores analogies between nature and media. This places processes of representation in photographic and multimedia contexts at the forefront. Image and representation, as well as our perception of the world shaped by imaging media, are subjected to a visual, location-specific staging. Skaftfell is thrilled to welcome Katia Klose, artist in residence for the month of March. Klose, born 1972 in Berlin (Germany), works as a photographer, photo editor and lecturer in Leipzig. At the core of her photographic work lies an exploration of reality in terms of its sensual and poetic qualities. The documentary aspect intertwines with the inquiry into hidden connections of human existence in dialogue with the environment and nature.
