Skaftfell invites young people of all ages to join our ceramics workshops led by ceramicist Rikke Høgenhof. The workshops will be held on November 19 and 20 in the Heima studio, Austurvegur 15, Seyðisfjörður.
Saturday November 19 from 12-16
Monster modelling, for 5-10 year olds
Bring your monster ideas to life in clay! Parents are welcome. The artworks will be sculpted in clay and painted during the workshop and then glazed and fired by Rikke in the following week. They will be exhibited in Heima on Saturday, November 26, from 14-15, after which they can be picked up by the makers.
Sunday November 20 from 12-16
Reflecting the light, for 11-16 year olds
We will work with plate technique and make our own candle light holders, thinking about how light can be reflected by cutting out our own patterns in the clay. The artworks will then be glazed and fired by Rikke and exhibited at Heima on Saturday, November 26, from 14-15, where they will also be ready for pickup.
