During September Skaftfell has organized guided tours for families on Saturdays at 15.00. The tour offers insight into the work of Nína Tryggvadóttir (1913-1968) and Gunnlaugur Scheving (1904-1972) on display in the exhibition All Kinds of Landscapes. The tour will take place in Icelandic and is a part of BRAS.
BRAS is a new cultural festival dedicated to children and young adults. The festival will take place for the first time all around East Iceland in September 2018, with exhibitions, workshops, concerts, theater performances and more. The festival is launched in partnership with Austurbrú, the Cultural Center of Fljótdalshérað, The Cultural Center of Fjarðarbyggð / Music Center of Austurland and Skaftfell in close collaboration with Fljótsdalshérað Municipality, Fjarðabyggð Municipality, the School Administration of Austurland as well as kindergartens and primary schools in East Iceland.
