Quarantine drawings

West Wall gallery, Skaftfell Bistro, June 17 – July 1, 2020.

For many years visitors to the Skaftfell bistro have been invited to make drawings and writings on stacks of A4 paper, and leave them in the bistro. Once a year all these “bistro drawings” are collected and bound into a book. During the recent Covid19-related time of isolation and restricted movement, Skaftfell invited everyone in Seyðisfjörður and beyond to submit their “quarantine drawings”. These drawings were thought to become a record of thoughts, feelings and creative responses during this period of uncertainty that we all had to experience.

Now that the restrictions are lifted, we are happy to present a short exhibition of the submitted drawings in Skaftfell’s bistro. After that they will be bound into the forthcoming book of bistro drawings. The book will be made accessible to all in the Skaftfell library.

Thank you very much for these powerful drawings!

If you would still like to add your own drawings to the book please feel free to leave them in the white collection box in the bistro under the gallery stairs.
