The outdoor sculpture “A movable feast” by Andreas Jari Juhani Toriseva is a part of the exhibition Veldi, that is currently running in Skaftfell. The work is a car that has been transformed into a sauna and is parked outside of Austurvegur 42. The Sauna-car is fully functional and everybody is welcome to use it. Guest enter at their own risk and have to bring their own wood. In the car you can read a manner of conduct and guests are asked to respect the agreement. Enjoy.

Veldi is a group exhibition by graduating students from the fine art department at the Iceland Academy of the Arts. The exhibition forms the conclusion of a two week long workshop in Seyðisfjörður. The students got assistance by locals, who have provided them with insight into the town’s diverse industries, fishing, steel forging and wool processing to name a few. The group also got insight into the isolation and uncertainty caused by snowstorms and as a consequence mountain roads being blocked.
