Artist Maria Sjöfn Dupuis Laufeyjardóttir´s two-month residency at Skaftfell was devoted to studying the marine animals that live in  Seyðisfjördur. Mapping Sound. For his artist residency at Skaftfell in the autumn of 2022, Czech sound installation artist Jan Krtička made field recordings of site-specific locations in Seyðisfjörður and Skálanes. One can access these recordings on the website aporee.org, a database of field recordings from around the world.
