Aspects of Abiotic Metabolism

The Bookshop – projectspace Abiotic comes from the Greek and means “without life”. There are things in the world that are said to not be living – and yet they are in motion, can store information, are crucial building blocks for the bodies of living creatures. In her work Simona Koch is researching the aspects of the living in various directions. The assumption that everything is embedded in a humongous vivid world fabric mainly affects her current work. www.abiotismus.de  – is a blog about Simonas stay and work in skaftfell en-bloc.de | organism4.en-bloc.de | transeast.wordpress.com | usaenbloc.wordpress.com Kindly supported by The Göethe Institut

the Sauna-car

The outdoor sculpture “A movable feast” by Andreas Jari Juhani Toriseva is a part of the exhibition Veldi, that is currently running in Skaftfell. The work is a car that has been transformed into a sauna and is parked outside of Austurvegur 42. The Sauna-car is fully functional and everybody is welcome to use it. Guest enter at their own risk and have to bring their own wood. In the car you can read a manner of conduct and guests are asked to respect the agreement. Enjoy.
