The Young Arctic Creatures Workshop

Skaftfell Art Center, in association with BRAS, Múlaþing, and Ströndin Studio, will host an all-day creative workshop with students from Brúarásskóli, on Wednesday, May 3, in Seyðisfjörður. The workshop was designed in connection with the exhibition The Arctic Creatures Revisited, opening at Skaftfell on May 5. The Arctic Creatures artists Hrafnkell Sigurðsson, Óskar Jónasson, and Stefán Jónsson, will work together with local artists Agnieszka Sosnowska, Jessica Auer, and Tess Rivarola, to guide young students on a field trip in Seyðisfjörður, to learn the fundamentals of creating stories using nothing but imagination, inspiration, and creativity. Olivia Louvel is a French-born British artist, composer and researcher whose work draws on voice, computer music and digital narrative. Her work is presented in the form of sound recordings, live performance, sound art installations and video art. Her practice is built upon a long-standing exploration of the voice, sung, or spoken, and its manipulation through digital technology as a compositional method.
