He has worked as a chef for the past 11 years in Denmark, France and Spain and has at the same time developed his practice in photography and video. His work has been shown at TIFF, Skjaldborg and Herðubreið. Garðar is currently employed as a cook on the Ísfisk trawler Gullver NS12, which operates from Seyðisfjörður. The collective exhibition Alter/Breyta of the visual artists Brák Jónsdóttir, Hugo Llanes, Joe Keys and Nína Óskarsdóttir opened on March 26 and will continue until May 22. Curator is Hanna Christel Sigurkarlsdóttir. About the exhibition: Alter / Breyta is a collective exhibition by four emerging artists who have all graduated fairly recently from Iceland University of the Arts. The group was chosen collaboratively with Bjarki Bragason, Dean of the Department of Fine Art, and invited to stay in Skaftfell´s residency for three weeks while further developing their proposals.
