Our Art Sale for Ukraine managed to raise 500.000 kr ! The full amount has now been sent to the Icelandic Red Cross’ special fund for Ukrainian refugees. The fundraiser event was organized by Skaftfell, together with the artistic community of Seyðisfjörður, last Sunday. Over 30 artists donated their artwork, created a pop-up exhibition in Skaftfell’s gallery, and the sale turned out to be very successful. The Board of Skaftfell is delighted to announce the appointment of Pari Stave as new director of Skaftfell Center for Visual Art. She will take up her position on May 1, 2022. During the previous two years the directorship has been shared between Hanna Christel Sigurkarlsdóttir and Julia Martin. Hanna Christel will leave Skaftfell on July 1 but Julia will stay on as project manager, taking care of Skaftfell’s international projects and the residency program.
